Food? 永康街! There's 鼎泰豐 & 高記 & 冰館... along with lots of hip Chinesy boutiques. It's rated #1 must visit place for the Japanese! I live around there!
Tourist places? I'd like to stay in Taipei so I don't know what's out there? But as for Will, you MUST visit 101 and get to the top observatory! It's one of the most amazing structure in the world, and still the tallest! You could see the entire Taipei and more! And 國父紀念館, 中正紀念堂, 圓山飯店, 故宮, 忠烈祠, 總統府... are all traditional Chinese architecture that he shouldn't miss!
台北信義誠品旗艦店 (walking distance from 101) is another hip place to visit if you want to see the latest trend in Taiwan. That area is where most of the yuppies hangout!
I don't recommend night markets unless you have a good stomach! I've been to a night market ONCE after I went back to Taiwan. And the first time is the last time because I saw a big fat rat running around, along with some Texas size cockroaches!
As for other parts of Taiwan, you need to decide if you want quality or quantity. You could visit 3 places in one day or spend 3 days visiting one place! It's all up to you!
You'll probably be dealing with jetlag for the first week so I suggest don't expect too much! And as for other places, 花蓮, 宜蘭, 日月潭 are as good as scenery gets in Taiwan. I'm not sure you want to go to 屏東. It's another 2 hours bus ride from 高雄. And if you've walked the southern coast of California, you probably won't need to be there!
And I guess the famous night life would be out of the question for you guys? Unless you want to take Zoya clubbing? Ha~~

2禮拜外加你們還帶baby真的很趕. 出門夠早台北一天最少可以跑3個地方, 但重點是不拖拖拉拉, 動作也要快, 腳力也要很夠! 台北可以去士林夜市, 九份, 基隆夜市. 其他台灣的景點我推薦太魯閣&日月潭, 很適合帶baby玩起來輕鬆又不會累. 台南市很多古蹟, 不確定你會不會想去看, 不過大部份有名的古蹟距離都很近, 走點路或是坐公車都很方便.
如果景點太多, 那就把百貨公司一類的省略(如101, 微風廣場, 東區), 夜市去2~3個有名的, 看路線(例如白天去九份一帶晚上去基隆夜市, 白天逛市區晚上逛夜市). 出了台北如果有親朋好友可帶你們去觀光景點也很好, 如果沒有也可考慮參加旅行團, 可參考eztravel.com.tw, 他們行程多且服務滿好的, 也可幫你代買火車高鐵票. 如果你在台北可找台灣大車隊(手機直接打55688)的計程車坐, 服務有保障不繞路跟一般計程車的跳表價也一樣.
這是我這兩年回台玩的小心得, 有問題再問我吧~
對了, 再囉嗦一下, 如果你們在台北要住hotel, 我會推薦住在台北車站附近. 這樣你們要坐捷運台鐵高鐵公車站牌也多都很方便, 且要回飯店才不用走太多路吃喝也容易. 一個晚上大約NT$1,700~2,100就可以住到還滿不錯的商務旅館.
還有, 台灣並不是個stroller friendly的地方, 如果要帶娃娃推車回去, 建議帶個很輕的umbrella stroller就好了. 在路上要推一台full system的大推車你可能會先發瘋.
回去要見許久未見的家人和朋友及調時差還要環島. 兩個禮拜真的是很短.
我如果是妳可能會只選幾個城市. 做單城市重點式的旅行.
我也是這樣跟你建議，我覺得不需要每個地方都去..選幾個重點的地方就好，不然行程應該會很趕。
除了台北之外，例如南部高雄跟墾丁、中部清境農場、東部花蓮、東部台東與綠島，這些是台灣現在蠻熱門的風景點，也有很多新興很有特色的民宿，建議可以選幾個點去。
阿里山跟日月潭都變成大陸客的天下..很多人去回來都覺得名產很貴..不過日月潭有一些高級的飯店還不錯，很多人都會專程去住宿享受一下。
對阿我也絕得住在民宿比較好
而且便宜 人也比較親切喔
我了解 兩個禮拜實在實在太少了拉
要回台灣 至少要住上一個月才夠
